Vintage notes: 2013 was a spectacular year for wine grapes in Paso Robles. Dry conditions and a long, hot growing season led to perfect ripening and unparalleled flavor intensity. Consistently cold nights at our Estate allowed the fruit to retain its acidity while enjoying lengthy hang times on the vines that contributed to deep flavor development. A deficit of water urges grape vines to up sugar production, so the 2013 wines are not short on alcohol, but the vibrancy and intensity of flavors are fully in balance with the wines’ big structures. 2013 was also the first year of on-site production at the Villa San-Juliette winery, and the wines were crafted in small lots with great care and attention to detail by our in-house production team.
